Meet Jonny Friedman

Our Investment Managers are experts in helping you tap into your home equity, but you may have more in common with them than you think. Learn a little more about your Investment Manager, their life outside of Hometap, and why they love working with homeowners like you.

What’s the best part of your job? How does being an Investment Manager at Hometap differ from your past work experiences?

I truly love helping people accomplish their financial goals every day! It feels like everyone is working toward the common goal of making homeownership less stressful and more accessible compared to my previous work experiences, where it was more about yourself and your individual achievements.

Is there a particular homeowner story that really made an impact on you? What is it and why?

One of the first Investments I closed had a pretty big impact on me. It was with a single mom who had three kids and a pretty high income. She wanted to take out a loan to help support her kids and all of the large bills that come along with children. She wasn’t having any luck with lenders because her credit score didn’t meet the banks’ requirements. It was my first time seeing an individual with a high income and a ton of equity in their house, but no way of using it.

Fortunately, we were able to work with her, and it only took about three weeks for her to receive the funds. This made a big impression on me because I realized there are so many people out there who get penalized solely because their credit scores are low. It made me realize how important Hometap could be for millions of homeowners across America.

What are your favorite things to do when you’re not working?

I love biking, running, playing basketball, hiking, going on road trips, and traveling (pre-COVID).

Describe your dream home.

Out west somewhere, fairly secluded, and in or near the mountains.

What’s one thing you wish people knew about Hometap?

How everyone here truly cares about the homeowner and puts them first. It’s not just a saying we use!
